Pre-school is a dynamic room where children follow an adaptable routine, which allows them plenty of opportunities for child-initiated play as well as being able to consolidate learning of more complex ideas alongside a qualified adult.
We encourage and promote self-care and independence within the room. The children are encouraged to put on their own coats, pour their own drinks, learn good handwashing routines and take part in our tooth brushing club. We feel that natural play experiences are a big part of their development.
The children can enjoy outings to the library, shops and park as part of their learning process. During this stage of Early Years education children will begin to understand more about letter formation, number sequencing and printed word.
Resources and activities within the room allow for spontaneous learning as well as providing ample opportunity to access all areas of the EYFS.
All 3 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free learning per week, during term time. As of September 2017, some 3 year olds will be able to access 30 hours of free learning per week. To apply for the 30-hour childcare offer, please click here.
